Job description
Welder PositionCarpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time welder to work at our Waggaman, LA location. Welders are responsible for receiving the prepared and fitted materials and welding them.Essential duties include:Grinding and preheating the steel with a torchMoving materials through the operation of cranes and/or forkliftsWelding components in accordance with weld proceduresPerform visual welding inspectionsUndertake weld qualification tests as requiredAssist the department foreman in meeting production targetsMaintain quality standardsKeep work area clean and orderlyNotify managers concerning any non-conformities and the need for repairs to the facility or equipmentMaintain a healthy and safe working environmentShift available:3:00pm – 1:30am-Night ShiftIdeal candidate:Have experience in MIG/MMA welding processCandidates must be able to measure quickly and accurately in order to keep scrap at a minimumBe able to read engineering drawingsBe able to stand and work in a warm environment for an 8-hour shiftBe able to work independently and efficientlyBe able to lift and carry heavy objects (over 50 pounds)Benefit highlights:Weekly payCompetitive hourly pay based on previous experience8 paid holidaysPaid time offLow affordable rates for medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as other benefits such as 401k with company matching, short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insuranceGrowth opportunitiesWe specialize in the manufacture and distribution of a complete line of pipe hangers and supports for commercial and industrial applications since 1913.
