Job Type: Full-Time Long-Term Shipyard Projects
Pay Range: Competitive pay + overtime opportunities
We are seeking experienced Welders and Fitters to join our team supporting major shipyard projects in the Hampton Roads, VA area. This is a great opportunity to work on high-profile ship repair, shipbuilding, and industrial marine projects with steady work and career growth.
Welder Duties:
Perform structural and pipe welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux Core, SMAW) on steel and aluminum in a shipyard environment
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
Execute proper welding techniques and inspect welds for quality assurance
Work on naval vessels, commercial ships, and industrial marine structures
Fitter Duties:
Layout, position, and fit steel and pipe components for assembly and welding
Use cutting torches, grinders, and measuring tools to ensure proper alignment
Interpret shipyard blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Install foundations, bulkheads, frames, and structural parts onboard ships
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of shipyard, marine, or industrial welding/fitting experience
Ability to pass welding and/or fitting tests as required by the shipyard
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and shipyard safety practices
Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and onboard naval/commercial vessels
Current certifications (ABS, NAVSEA, or AWS) a plus
