Job Position: Weld Engineer Location: Staunton, VA
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Employment Type: W-2 Contract
Pay Rate: $40-45/hour
We are looking for a skilled Weld Engineer with experience in pressure vessel design, welding engineering, and ASME Code requirements to support engineering design reviews, technical analysis, and manufacturing quality activities.
Key Responsibilities
Review pressure vessel designs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Apply relevant ASME Code requirements to pressure equipment design and fabrication.
Perform or validate engineering calculations and technical analyses.
Participate in design reviews and provide engineering recommendations.
Support welding procedures, including WPS/PQR, where applicable.
Assist with testing, weld inspection, quality verification, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant experience in welding engineering and pressure vessel design or fabrication.
Strong knowledge of applicable ASME Codes, preferably ASME Section VIII.
Experience with engineering calculations, drawing reviews, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with welding procedures, pressure testing, and quality activities.
Willingness to work onsite in Staunton, VA.
Preferred Industry Experience
Pressure vessel and boiler manufacturing, pressure equipment, heat exchangers, industrial machinery, HVAC, chillers, or refrigeration.
