Pipe LayerDNT Construction is now hiring several Pipe Layers for our Austin Wet Utilities Austin area projects! The Wet Utilities Department supports the underground utility systems by properly backfilling and compacting trenches after pipe installation. To be considered for the role, you must:Have at least 2 years of experience installing underground utilities in: Water, sanitary, stormInstalling RCP/HDPERead blueprints and ensure pipe is perfectly aligned.Experience laying down 500 sqft to 600 sqft of pipe a day.Reliable transportation to and from the job site.Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.A work week averages 40 to 60 hours. This job is labor-intensive, and you will be working outside! What We Offer:Health, dental, and vision are effective after 91 days of employment.Paid time off starts accruing on day 1!Selected paid holidays.401 (k) contributions after 1 year with employer contributions matching up to 4%.Responsibilities:Ensure trench is properly prepared and excavated according to grade and project specificationsVerify trench bottom grade using appropriate tools such as a grade pole or laser levelShovel, level, and fine grade the pre-pipe bedding layer of gravelAssemble, connect, and install underground piping systems including sanitary sewer, water, and storm drainageConfirm proper pipe alignment and fit prior to backfillingUse a grade pole or laser level to verify that pipe is laid to correct gradeGrade out top of the pipe bedding envelope and check gravel depth for compliance with job requirementsCollaborate closely with equipment operators and other crew members to maintain workflow and site safetyDNT Construction does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or staffing vendors.
