Job Description Job Description(Houston, TX): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking Wireman to join our team for a project in Galena Park pulling wire.
Must have active TWIC card and experience pulling wire.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building, wiring, and troubleshooting industrial control panels, switchgear, and PLC-based systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to interpret complex electrical drawings, and a commitment to quality, safety, and production efficiency.
Essential Duties:
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings
• Build, wire, and assemble industrial control panels, MCCs, PLC panels, and switchgear assemblies
• Install and terminate wiring for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, breakers, motor starters, and control devices
• Perform point-to-point wiring and ensure accurate labeling and documentation
• Lay out panel components in accordance with drawings and UL requirements (if applicable)
• Conduct quality checks, continuity testing, and assist with power-up and functional testing
• Troubleshoot wiring issues and make necessary corrections efficiently
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL 508A (if applicable), and company standards
• Mentor and assist apprentice and junior wiremen as needed
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment in accordance with company safety policies
Requirements/Skills:
• Valid Journeyman Electrician license
• 5+ years of electrical experience, with strong panel shop experience preferred
• Proven experience with industrial control panels and PLC systems
• Strong understanding of electrical theory and control circuits
• Experience with switchgear and low- to medium-voltage systems preferred
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints
• Familiarity with UL panel standards and quality control processes
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production schedules
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in an indoor panel shop environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive wiring tasks
• Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity required for detailed wiring and assembly work
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed during panel assembly
