About the Facility - Mescalero Service Unit
The Mescalero Service Unit, operated by the Indian Health Service, provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services to the Mescalero Apache Tribe or another Native American community. These services encompass primary care, dental care, behavioral health support, public health programs, emergency and urgent care, maternal and child health services, chronic disease management, pharmacy services, and optometry services.

WHNP - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to) The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner will provide prenatal care to pregnant women.
Shall conduct gynecological exams and pap smears, and diagnose/treat reproductive health issues.
Shall perform screenings for sexually transmitted infections, provide and manage contraception and family planning, and educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
Will develop and implement individualized care plans.
Will prescribe medications and therapies, offer menopausal care, and hormone replacement therapy.
The WHNP will collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care, perform minor medical procedures like IUD placements and removals.
Will work with appropriate staff, other agencies and accepting facilities to medically stabilizae and coordinate appropriate urgent and emergent transfers to facilities with a higher level of care, when necessary.
OBGYN Physician - REQUIREMENTS License: Must maintain an active, full, and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in this state or any other state of the United States of America.
Must provide and maintain active Nurse Practitioner certification or Women's Health Specialty certification.
Shall hold and maintain BLS and ACLS certification.
