General Summary
The Work-Study Student Helper provides support to the Odessa College Children's Center staff in creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for children. This position assists with daily classroom and center activities while gaining valuable experience working with children and supporting early childhood development.
Specific Position Duties
Assist Children's Center staff with daily activities and classroom routines.
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom and play environment.
Assist with setting up and cleaning up classroom materials, activities, and play areas.
Interact with children in a positive, respectful, and age-appropriate manner.
Assist with supervising children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and other scheduled activities.
Support teachers and staff with preparing materials and activities.
Follow all Children's Center policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and center operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Must be an actively enrolled Odessa College student and eligible for Federal Work-Study.
Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work well with children and staff.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a professional and positive attitude.
Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required.
