Job description
Work Study LifeguardLifeguards will assist with the operation of the Aquatics Facility alongside the Facility administration. They will also monitor Moriarty Pool users while ensuring safety and enforcing rules. Lifeguards will be expected to:Assist with safety and customer service assistance during shiftAct as a rescuer/caregiver in emergency situationsAssist with building cleanliness and minor maintenanceRecognize and prevent potential accidents/incidentsReport safety concerns to appropriate administrative personnelRequirements:Current certification in LifeguardingCurrent certification in CPR/AED for the Professional RescuerStrong swimming skillsMust be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semesterMust have Work Study award in your financial aid packagePreferred Qualifications:Good people skills and the ability to superviseAwareness of health and safety proceduresAlertness and a sense of responsibilityThe ability to remain calm and act appropriately in an emergencyPhysical Demands:Candidates must possess the physical stamina, strength, vision, and coordination necessary to maintain a safe aquatic environment.Special Conditions for Eligibility:Please be aware that employment at Bridgewater State University is contingent upon completion of a successful background check.
