Job Summary

CSU Athletics is hiring student workers to support the department¿s sports communications, marketing, gameday operations, creative content, and live broadcasts. Students may apply for one or more of the following positions:

Sports Communications:

Assist with game statistics, scorekeeping, website updates, social media coverage, press box operations, postgame materials, and other communications responsibilities.

Marketing and Promotions:

Assist with promotional activities, fan engagement, sponsor activations, giveaways, and in-game entertainment. Responsibilities may also include preparing promotional materials and helping execute marketing plans for home events.

Gameday Operations:

Support the setup, operation, and breakdown of CSU Athletics events. Duties may include facility preparation, credentialing, hospitality, ticketing, crowd assistance, and other responsibilities needed to operate home competitions.

Photography:

Photograph home athletic events, practices, special events, and promotional content. Edit and organize photos for use on the CSU Athletics website, social media, graphics, and other promotional materials (must have own equipment).

Videography:

Film games, practices, interviews, and promotional content. Assist with editing highlights, social media videos, feature stories, and other video projects (must have own equipment).

Graphic Design:

Create gameday graphics, promotional materials, social media content, and other digital assets while following CSU Athletics branding guidelines. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar programs is preferred.

Broadcast Camera Operator:

Operate cameras during live broadcasts of CSU Athletics events. Follow game action, communicate with the production team, and assist with equipment setup and breakdown. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary based on the assigned position, previous experience, and departmental needs. Applicants must be dependable, professional, able to work in a team environment, and available for select nights and weekends based on athletic schedules. Previous experience is preferred for certain creative and technical positions but is not required for every role. Training will be provided.

Must be eligible for work-study.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to submit and successfully pass a background investigation to include reference checks and verification of academic credentials (if applicable). Other additional requirements may be required based upon specific position duties: A credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage;

Pre-employment drug testing for positions with high-risk responsibilities.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive a Columbus State University fleet vehicle or other vehicle designated as a fleet vehicle. A successful drug screening will be required as a condition of employment a randomly thereafter.

For Faculty Hires : Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

Position Classification :

Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions are grouped into three general levels based on job duties and required skills: Entry-Level: Basic tasks with little to no prior experience required. Duties may include clerical work, customer service, or general office support.

Intermediate: Positions that require some prior experience or specific skills. Duties may include tutoring, lab assistance, or more independent administrative work.

Advanced: Roles that require specialized skills, training, or significant responsibility. Duties may include research assistance, technical support, or leadership roles.

Procedure for Determining Pay Rate :

Federal Work-Study (FWS) pay rates are based on the type of job, responsibilities, and skills required. Pay is set within the university's student wage guidelines and follows federal and state minimum wage laws.

Rates may vary by position and are determined in coordination with Financial Aid, based on available funding and the student's FWS award.
