Job description

Pay: $90,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Location: Remote opportunity based in California. Candidates must live within reasonable proximity to Los Angeles, Sacramento, Orange County, or Ventura. The hiring process can begin via Zoom, with an in-person interview required before hire.

Note: Active California Bar membership and at least 2 years of California workers compensation experience are required. We welcome qualified attorneys from law firms, in-house counsel teams, and solo practices. We are especially interested in attorneys seeking a genuine long-term opportunity with our team.

Job Description

Manage a full caseload of California workers compensation defense matters with varying levels of complexity

Open new files, evaluate claims, and develop effective litigation plans and case strategies

Conduct written discovery, depositions, investigations, and other case development activities

Prepare for and make appearances before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board

Communicate directly with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and other parties throughout each matter

Draft persuasive legal correspondence, pleadings, reports, and settlement documents

Evaluate exposure and provide practical recommendations designed to move cases toward effective resolution

Maintain organized files, deadlines, reporting requirements, and litigation calendars

Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals while independently driving assigned matters forward

Qualifications

Active California Bar license in good standing

2+ years of California workers compensation law experience

Experience managing workers compensation matters and litigation responsibilities

Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills

Ability to independently manage deadlines and a full caseload

Strong work ethic, sound professional judgment, and commitment to ethical practice

Genuine interest in building a long-term career with an established defense practice

Law firm, in-house counsel, and solo practice backgrounds will be considered
