The Wound Care Nurse specializes in the proper management of wound care by treating and monitoring wounds that are the result of disease, injury, or medical treatments. The job requires that the nurse assist with providing care that quickly and safely heals various types of wounds, including surgical openings, ulcers, bed sores, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Their work requires that they assessthe wounds, create and implement treatment plans, monitor infections and signs of various infections, and clean wounds.
Wound Care NurseLicenses/Certification
Current valid LPN or RN license in State
Previous wound care experience
Wound care certification preferred
At least one year of LPN or RN experience in a Long Term Care Setting preferred
