Job description

Wrapline WorkerThe Wrapline Worker at Vanguard Furniture supports the upholstery production process by preparing and wrapping furniture frames and components to meet Vanguard's high standards of craftsmanship and quality. This role plays a critical part in ensuring each piece is properly padded, protected, and ready for final upholstery or finishing.Position Responsibilities:Wrap furniture frames using foam, batting, and other upholstery materials according to Vanguard specifications and build standardsApply materials smoothly and securely to ensure proper shape, comfort, and durability of finished productsFollow detailed work orders, build sheets, and supervisor instructions to meet custom and standard product requirementsInspect frames and materials prior to wrapping to ensure they meet quality expectationsIdentify and report defects in frames, materials, or previous production stagesPrepare wrapped frames for upholsterers by ensuring proper padding, alignment, and material placementMaintain proper material usage to minimize waste, especially with high-end fabrics and componentsSupport production flow by staging, stacking, and moving frames along the wrapline efficientlyCollaborate with upholsterers, sewing, and frame departments to ensure smooth workflowMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company policiesUse of open flame propane torches in a safe manner not to cause personal injury or defect furnitureUtilize proper PPE where designatedEssential Skills and Experience:Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to Vanguard's quality standardsAbility to follow build specifications and production instructionsGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterityAbility to lift and handle furniture frames and materials (up to 50 lbs individually, 50+ will require team lifting)Reliable attendance and strong work ethicPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Standing for extended periods throughout the shiftFrequent lifting, bending, reaching, pushing and pullingRepetitive use of hands and arms for wrapping and material placementUpholstery manufacturing floor with moderate noise levelsExposure to fabrics, foam, adhesives, and upholstery toolsTeam-based production setting focused on craftsmanship and efficiency
