Description
Summary/Objective
Maintain and use equipment and supplies necessary to demonstrate portions of the human body on x-ray film or fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic purposes, as ordered by the physician.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Prepares patients for radiological imaging procedures.
Position x-ray equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance.
Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific whole? body area as requested a evidence by physician.
Use beam-restrictive devices and patient‑shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
Cleans procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits.
Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer‑generated methods.
Maintains radiographic supplies and orders as necessary.
Ensures patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by OrthoSC
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Orthopedic/general medical terminology
Knowledge of x‑ray procedures and protocols
Computer proficiency
Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards
Must identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor
Respect and follow physician/patient etiquette
Work under pressure with a positive attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional clinical environment. This position will not and may not act independently.
Physical Demands
Varied activities including walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Does require standing and walking for long periods of time. Assists with the transfer of patients, must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a prn position. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m and Saturday-Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Travel
Occasional travel to other OrthoSC locations may be required as needed.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required qualifications
Associates degree in Radiological Technology
Completion of an accredited radiology/active license (ARRT)
Valid SCQRSA (SC Radiation Quality Standards Association) license
