SA Recycling values the diversity of all our employees and is committed to creating a working environment that is built on respect and inclusion where all contribute in a meaningful way; can advance on merit; and strive to realize their full potential.The Yard Inspector Supervisor is a working supervisor role and will have responsibility for guiding the daily work activities of all yard personnel, inspecting materials received from our suppliers, and monitoring and guiding the flow of truck traffic. You will provide leadership and guidance in the promotion of a safe working environment, yard organization, inventory handling and control, obtainment of operational goals, and backing up the General Manager as needed. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, and on Saturdays as needed.SA Recycling offers:Competitive PayComprehensive benefits including affordable medical options, dental and vision401k with a Company MatchWeekly PayCompany provided uniforms and PPEAdvancement Opportunities with locations regionally and from coast to coastResponsibilities of an Inspection Supervisor:Complete a weekly safety inspection of their departmentConduct safety conversations with employeesMonitor production levels as assignedEnsure there is proper labor coverage for production and maintenanceTrain employees in various ways e.g. email, bulletins, shipping documents, work assignments, production quotasCommunicate to a workforce in morning tailgate and safety meetings (public speaking)Provide client services in person or over the phone to ensure new metal materials are purchased dailyWork with employees and clients to ensure all conflicts and negotiations are handled in professional mannerClean up work area at the end of shiftKeep work areas neat and orderlyRegular attendance and punctuality are essential job functionsOrganizing materials to have more effective use of spaceDispose of various waste materials in the appropriate mannerInspection material and ensure proper material is purchased and directed to be placed in yard for proper processingPerform all other duties as assignedQualifications of a Yard Supervisor:Must pass a medical, physical and drug testMust pass a background check and credit checkPreferred - high school diploma or GEDPrior scrap metal experience preferredAbility to communicate with others effectively, understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demandsAn understanding of the metal market well enough to negotiate pricing, delivery process and production demandsPossess interpersonal skills to gain support of workforce and clientele when conducting businessPLEASE NOTE: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
