Job description
Third Shift Youth Care WorkerAs a third shift Youth Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing overnight care and support to adolescents and young adults in a residential setting. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety, well-being, and emotional development of the youth under your care. This is a great shift perfect for students or night owls.QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED or equivalentMust be 21 years of age or olderMust be able to pass a physical and drug screen and backgroundsThis shift begins promptly at 10 PM and ends at 6 AM. Starting full-time base pay $16.11. The Third shift schedule has a monthly rotating schedule of 5 days on and 2 days off, with required on-call shifts. There is an additional $3 premium for scheduled weekends as well.Key Responsibilities1. Youth SupervisionMonitor and supervise youth during the night hours to ensure their safety and security.Conduct regular bed checks and room inspections to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment2. Crisis InterventionBe prepared to respond to emergencies or behavioral crises that may arise during the nightFollow established protocols for de-escalation and crisis management3. DocumentationMaintain accurate records of nightly activities, incidents, and observationsDocument any significant changes in the behavior or condition of the youth4. Supportive CareProvide emotional support and guidance to youth who may be experiencing difficulties or emotional distressAssist with bedtime routines and ensure a calm and nurturing atmosphereComplete the targeted chore list to help maintain a clean and functional space5. CommunicationCommunicate effectively with other staff members to ensure a seamless transition of care between shiftsReport any issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor6. Safety and SecurityImplement security measures and protocols to ensure the safety of both youth and staffFollow all safety and emergency proceduresNote: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
