Youth Care Worker – Travel CompanionAre you excited by the prospect of working for an organization that truly values your contributions, provides opportunities for growth and development, AND gives you a chance to make a difference in the lives of children and families?The Youth Care Worker – Travel Companion is a non-exempt position responsible for traveling with discharged children and reuniting them with family members. Youth Care Travel Companions work at the UC facility performing Youth Care Worker duties when not transporting clients.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Travel with children discharged from the program and maintain ongoing supervision of children's whereabouts and wellness reportsBe a supportive and positive role model for the development of social and other skills for all childrenObserve and assist children at meals and snack times, especially those with diet restrictionsKeep the Shift Lead informed of changes in the appearance and behavior of the children, needed supplies, and any areas of concernAssist as necessary with daily living activities, doctor appointments, outings, and case managementTransport clients to and from outings, activities, between building floors, and to appointmentsRespond to emergencies and provide crisis interventionEnsure and safeguard the human and legal rights of those in the programProvide direct services to children to ensure a staff/client ratio is maintained in accordance with ORR regulationsRecord behavior and interactions of the children with staff and peers; monitor and supervise children 1:1 or conduct frequent checksPerform all other duties as assignedWHAT WE OFFER:$20.28 per hour PLUS $.50 per hour for working during 2nd shift hours and $1.00 per hour for working overnight and weekend hours.15 PTO Days per year13 Paid HolidaysMedical, Dental & Vision insuranceHealthcare ConciergeFinancial Wellness ProgramDependent Care Flexible Spending AccountImmediate eligibility for 403b Savings Plan with 25% matchSupplementary Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and Specified Disease insurancePaid Life/AD&D insurancePet, Legal, and Identity Theft programsContinuous training and professional development opportunitiesMileage ReimbursementAn opportunity to make the world a better place!WHAT YOU WILL NEED:High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years' experience working with children.Experience in a residential or mental health treatment setting preferred.Bilingual skills required in clients' spoken languages, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and/or French, preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExtremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn new software and systemsResponsible for moving children's belongings when required, up to 25 poundsPotential for exposure to communicable diseasesProof of Immunization for: Varicella (2 doses), MMR (2 doses), Influenza (1 dose yearly), and Tdap (1 dose).Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentMay be required to transport clients in a program or personal vehicleMust have a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance coverage.WHO WE ARE:From babies to seniors, Gulf Coast JFCS serves all people in need, regardless of race, religion, culture, or gender identity.
