nYouth Development Staff | St. Croix Central Middle School | $16.37 per hour | Part-Time (Monday to Friday)
nAt a glance: The YMCA is seeking a Youth Development Staff (age 16+) to join our St. Croix Teen Center. This part-time position includes a free Y membership, growth opportunities and more!
nSchedule:
nnnPart-Time
n
nnMonday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
n
nnOccasional 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday night shift
n
n nPay: The salary for this position is $16.37 hourly. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
nnnJob Summary: The Youth Development Staff is responsible for assisting with the designated programs to ensure that the program criteria and objectives are carried out. The incumbent is responsible for implementing curriculum, as assigned. The youth development staff provides a safe, enjoyable experience to all program participants.

nnEssential Functions:

n nnnWorking, as part of a team, to perform program activities as directed by the supervisor.
n
nnAssist with daily curriculum.
n
nnCommunicate courteously with members and participants.
n
nnSupervise and engage youth in activities.
n
nnMaintain a safe environment.
n
nnAssist in special programs and activities as required by supervisor.
n
n nnnRelationships: This position reports to the Youth Development Coordinator or Program Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with staff, members, and the community. This position requires regular interaction with youth, families, members, and staff from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

nnQualifications:
n
n nRequired:
nnnMust be self-directed, motivated, organized, and creative.
n
nnAbility and interest in working with people of diverse backgrounds.
n
nnStrong communication and mediation skills.
n
n nnWork Conditions:
n nnnPerform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
n
nnAbility to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.
n
nnMay be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the environment.
n
nnWork environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently.
n
nnMust be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.
n
