This job exists as a formal supervisory position dedicated to overseeing and providing supervision for direct care Youth Services Security Officers.

Job Description

This job requires working at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times. The position involves overseeing and providing supervision for direct care Youth Services Security Officers. This includes managing staff scheduling, movement of juveniles, overseeing admissions/releases, orientation, security/control functions, educational support services, daily programming, recreation, meals, medical referral and follow-up, and customer service. The role also involves identifying, reporting, documenting, and intervening in subordinate staff performance concerns, ensuring compliance with DYS Policy and QAYS DYS Compliance Standards, and integrating goals and principles of trauma responsiveness/Sanctuary Model, DYS Strategic Plan, and other programmatic initiatives of the Division.

Minimum qualifications include two (2) years of professional corrections-related experience working in a correctional or trauma-informed facility, and a high school diploma or GED. Additional education can substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis. Highly desirable characteristics include the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, manage competing interests, and provide strategic direction. Conditions of employment include background checks, age and criminal history requirements, driver's license, shift work, travel, and mandatory training completion.
