Job description

This opportunity is well suited to an experienced accounting professional who enjoys combining financial expertise with client relationship management and team leadership. As an Account Lead, you will serve as the primary owner of assigned client relationships, ensuring accounting deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with each client's needs. Success in this role requires sound judgment, strong organization, proactive communication, and the ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for overall engagement quality.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and build trusted, long-term relationships.

Communicate proactively, clearly, and professionally across all client interactions.

Lead seamless onboarding for new clients and identify opportunities to improve service and add value.

Take ownership of commitments, deadlines, and client needs.

Anticipate potential issues and address them before they become larger problems.

Financial Oversight & Deliverables

Ensure client deliverables are accurate, timely, organized, and consistent with established standards.

Conduct financial reviews to validate data integrity and identify risks or opportunities.

Provide meaningful financial insights that support client decision-making.

Use sound judgment to resolve issues or determine when escalation is appropriate.

Maintain visibility into AP workflows and intervene when issues require attention.

Team & Workflow Management

Manage competing priorities across multiple client engagements.

Delegate effectively to offshore team members while providing clear direction and reviewing completed work.

Maintain accurate, organized client information within project management systems.

Monitor team capacity and proactively identify opportunities to improve utilization.

Promote collaboration and accountability across the engagement team.

Process & Technology

Consistently apply organizational policies, processes, and accounting best practices.

Encourage the use of technology and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Adapt quickly as client needs, priorities, and business circumstances change.

Contribute ideas that improve workflows and overall service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

3–5 years of accounting or client-facing financial services experience preferred.

Experience managing client accounts and/or accounting workflows.

Familiarity with AP processes and general accounting principles.

Proficiency with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to delegate, prioritize, and manage multiple engagements.

Experience working with offshore or distributed teams is a strong plus.

Experience within an outsourced accounting, advisory, or professional services environment is highly desirable.
