nResponsibilities
nPosition Summary
nThe Fixed Asset Accounting Accountant II supports the accurate tracking, accounting, and reporting of company fixed assets. This role helps maintain the fixed asset register, supports asset transfers, disposals, verifications, reporting, and assists with light monthly close activities, including journal entries and related reconciliations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with asset tracking systems, and able to collaborate with accounting, finance, operations, IT, and asset custodians to ensure fixed asset records are complete, accurate, and compliant with company policies.
nKey Responsibilities
nnnMaintain and update fixed asset records in the asset register and related tracking tools.
n
nnSupport asset transfer, disposal, retirement, and verification processes, ensuring required approvals and documentation are obtained.
n
nnAssist with annual or periodic physical asset verification activities and follow up on missing, obsolete, or incorrectly assigned assets.
n
nnPrepare fixed asset reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for management, audit, and internal control requirements.
n
nnSupport monthly close activities related to fixed assets, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and review of asset clearing or related accounts.
n
nnPartner with asset custodians, department managers, IT, facilities, and finance teams to resolve fixed asset questions and discrepancies.
n
nnReview asset additions, transfers, disposals, and retirements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policy.
n
nnAssist with depreciation, capitalization, and fixed asset accounting support as needed.
n
nnMaintain organized documentation and support for fixed asset transactions and audit requests.
n
nnIdentify opportunities to improve fixed asset processes, reporting, documentation, and controls.
n
n nThe salary range of $67,000 - $113,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
nQualifications
nRequired Qualifications
nnnBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent related experience may be considered.
n
nnThree years of related accounting, finance, fixed asset, inventory, asset management, or administrative experience preferred.
n
nnBasic understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
n
nnStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
n
nnProficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to work with reports, listings, and large data sets.
n
nnAbility to follow established procedures, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
n
nnStrong communication and follow-up skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
n
n nPreferred Experience
nnnExperience using Asset Tracker or a similar fixed asset tracking system.
n
nnExperience supporting fixed asset transfers, disposals, retirements, annual verifications, and reporting.
n
nnExperience with Oracle, SAP, or another ERP fixed asset module preferred.
n
nnExposure to SOX, internal controls, audit support, or fixed asset policy compliance preferred.

nnExperience preparing or supporting monthly close journal entries and account reconciliations.

This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year.
