nSummary:

nUnder the direction of the Payroll Operations Manager, the Accounting Technician- Payroll is responsible for supporting full-cycle payroll processing for multiple companies within a multi-state, multi-entity environment. This role performs payroll processing, validation, and record maintenance activities to ensure employees are paid accurately and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Payroll specific training will be provided for anyone who has the minimum qualifications.

n nResponsibilities

nDuties and Responsibilities:

nnnCompile and validate payroll data including hours worked, earnings, taxes, deductions, benefits, and union dues.

n

nnPrepare payroll input and enter data into payroll systems for multiple companies and states.

n

nnReview payroll calculations and correct errors to ensure accuracy.

n

nnMaintain employee payroll records, including tax elections, direct deposit, benefits, and garnishments.

n

nnAssist in processing payrolls, including off-cycle and manual payments.

n

nnSupport payroll reporting activities including earnings, taxes, and deductions.

n

nnAssist with preparation of payroll liability payments.

n

nnMaintain payroll documentation in accordance with company policies.

n

nnRespond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

n

nnProvide support to payroll team members and assist with cross-functional requests.

n

nnOther duties as assigned

n nQualifications

nMinimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

nnnHigh School Diploma or GED.

n

nnTwo years of experience in an HR or Finance position such as payroll, collections, accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable or accounts receivable.)

n

nnMust be able to articulate Excel experience and give examples.)

n

nnSuccessfully pass background and drug screening

n

n nPreferred Qualifications:

nnList of preferred qualifications which include education/experience/certifications/clearances (quantifiable)

n nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

nnnStrong attention to detail and data accuracy.

n

nnAbility to work with payroll systems and Microsoft Office tools, including Excel.

n

nnAbility to follow established processes and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

n

nnStrong communication and customer service skills.

n

nnAbility to work independently and as part of a team.

n

nnAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
