Advertising Coordinator
The person in this position is responsible for supervising, implementing, and administering corporate image and property identity programs as they relate to advertising, social media, and perception through editorial, media, and community efforts.
Essential duties and responsibilities include working with graphic designers and the Advertising Manager on design projects in both a creative, organized, and proofreading capacity for marketing collateral, signage, advertising, etc. Additionally, the role involves working with a web agency and assisting with the updating of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City's website on a consistent and timely basis. The position also requires building and sustaining professional relationships with external vendors, assisting in the interpretation, development, and supervision of internal communications, and collaborating in meetings to discuss agendas with internal teams and contracted agencies.
The role coordinates and assists in the execution of photo shoots and film shoots on property, works with the Advertising Manager on the execution of social media strategies through various platforms, conceptualizes and drafts press materials in proper AP format, maintains a media library, and remains well-informed of the property's current news and events as well as market/industry news that may have an impact on the property. The Advertising Coordinator also prepares and manages activity reports and lists, assists in the development and execution of the Marketing budget, and supports other departmental needs upon request.
Required skills and abilities include strong written and verbal skills, knowledge of AP writing techniques, the ability to effectively deal with all forms of media, the ability to multi-task and stay well organized, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive environment, and the ability to work nights and weekends. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Advertising or related field and 1+ years related experience in advertising, communications, event planning, marketing, or public relations.
Physical requirements and working conditions include the ability to proof and edit publications, the ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation, the ability to maintain a positive image for the company, the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees as well as outside contacts, experience in planning and hosting on-site and off-site events, the ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation, the ability to effectively and efficiently move around the work area, a confident and self-aware personality, the ability to admit to mistakes and learn from them, an engaging personality with strong interpersonal skills, listening and communication skills, a proven track record of establishing relationships with professionals within the community, and the ability to work flexible hours, including possible weekends and holidays.
