Job description
Armed Security OfficerArmed Security Officers provide protection of work site(s), personnel, and assets from events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive incidents along the Alyeska Pipeline. Officers enforce safety and security measures, perform regular vehicular and/or foot patrols of assigned premises, perform access control duties, and respond to incidents based on established operational procedures. This is a rotational position working a 2 week on / 2 week off schedule in Glennallen, AK. Housing in Glennallen is not provided. Officers go to their own place of residence at the end of the shift.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum 21 years of ageValid driver's license and clean driving recordMinimum of two years of experience as an officer (or above) with a municipal, state or federal law enforcement agency, military police unit, corrections or private security company within the past five years.Experience within the past five years may be waived based on performance testing indicating that the applicant is capable of performing essential security functions.Armed Security Guard License (State of Alaska) or ability to obtain.Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) certification or ability to obtain.Reliable access to a smartphone capable of running apps for scheduling, timekeeping (clocking in/out), shift communications, and time-off requests.Must be able to pass the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen, criminal background investigation and post-offer physical/functional capacity evaluation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSExecute post orders and enforce company/client policies while maintaining professional, courteous, and respectful interactions with the public.Protect people, property, and assets by preventing theft, damage, fire, unauthorized access, and other security risks.Conduct patrols, surveillance, searches, and investigations; identify suspicious activity, assess risk, and take appropriate action, including arrest when required.Respond effectively to emergencies, accidents, and disasters, including performing rescue functions and fire suppression using appropriate equipment.Safely operate vehicles, communication systems, and security equipment, including radios, fire extinguishers, and agency-issued firearms.Accurately document incidents, investigations, and daily activities; communicate clearly and coherently via radio and written reports.Maintain composure, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a high level of alertness while working varied schedules, locations, and environmental conditions.BENEFITSFull-time regular employees have the opportunity to enroll in our health plan (medical/dental/vision), life insurance, 401k Retirement Plan, short term disability, and Employee Assistance Program. Company contribution to 401k begins after one year.WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee will be required to work in a confined workspace such as a security guard post or patrol vehicle for extended periods of time. Work assignments consist of 12-hour shifts; ability to work day and night shifts as required. The majority of the work is performed in a remote setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities. The employee's work requires routine walking, sitting, standing, bending, and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
