Description

The Associate Actuary performs complex actuarial work with minimal supervision and delivers high quality results. Communicates findings and recommendations clearly to actuarial peers, leaders, and senior stakeholders across the organization. Applies advanced critical thinking to identify complex issues, assess risk, and drive effective solutions. Takes full ownership of complex projects from planning through completion, anticipating dependencies, risks, and key decisions. Provides guidance to project teams and supports the growth of junior analysts through coaching and knowledge sharing. Demonstrates emerging leadership by modeling accountability and collaboration, and actively partners across teams to achieve shared outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Finance, or a related field

Coursework/Training: Successful completion of 4+ exams of the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation

Upon hire: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)

5 years healthcare actuarial/analytics experience

Experience with writing queries in SQL or another programming language

Demonstrated experience applying project management skills in data-related and financial analysis projects

Experience working for a large health care provider or plan

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Finance, or a related field

Upon hire: Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)

Experience with Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid revenue methodologies

Experience with APMs and Value-Based Care contracts

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
