Apply today to join the global leader in aviation security.Essential Functions (may include):Prevent access to restricted areas of airport both inside and outside of the terminal, only allowing access to authorized individualsConduct screening of employees, vendors, visitors and belongings utilizing x-ray machines, hand held wands, and/or magnetometersConduct vehicle inspections/searches at perimeter access points to the Airport's secured areasMonitor vehicles to ensure they have airfield permits; issue temporary vehicle permits as appropriateWill drive in your personal vehicle to rotate among five different posts at the airportConduct random employee/vendor screening and visual inspection of belongingsPerform access control duties at employee checkpointsInside the airport terminal, monitor and secure passenger exit laneMonitor and control curbside traffic, including pedestrian managementPerform foot patrol at the terminal parking lot, perimeter of the airport, and concoursesMay provide escorts and security for construction of runways, taxiways and terminals/concoursesRespond to incidents and emergenciesAdditional Responsibilities:Prepare Incident/Occurrence Reports for any incident or event that directly involves customer complaints/concerns, safety/security or operational issues/events.Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately.Complete security/safety training programsParticipate in industry specific security/safety training programs to offer our clients the best trained Security Guards at their airports.Post training, knowledgeable of and compliant with airport-specific operations performance manual and post orders.Position RequirementsEducation and ExperienceMust have a high school diploma or GEDPrevious contract security, military or law enforcement experience preferred.Requirements21 years of age or older.Proof of ability to work in the United StatesValid driver's licenseAble to pass Company background checkAble to pass Airport background check per Transportation Security Administration requirements for a SIDA badge (Security Identification Display Area)Able to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Aviation Security Guards where and when applicableA minimum of three to six months of prior security experienceSkills and AbilitiesProficiency in reading, writing and speaking English and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.Interpersonal and communications and customer service skillsReliable attendanceAbility to perform essential functions of the position including must be physically capable of standing or walking an entire shift, able to lift a 25lb, climb into a truck or trailer, bending, stooping, and crouching to view areas of a vehicleDemonstrated Competencies to be Successful in the Position:Security Mindset – take pride in keeping the skies safe and the flights secureTrust - keeping promises and speaking the truth.Customer Focused - the willingness to listen and the duty to act – promptly and appropriately.Team Spirit - integrity, experience, collaboration and open communication.Innovation – creativity, seeking new ideas, continuous improvement though anticipating change and adapting to it.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual(s) assigned to this position.
