Baker PositionIf you enjoy baking and take pride in producing high-quality products, our Baker position could be a great fit! You'll help with proofing and baking products, preparing items for the next day, stocking and wrapping, assisting customers, and keeping the department clean and organized. Learning challenge is developing baking proficiency with all products. This position requires ongoing judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, listening skills, math, bakery equipment operation, exposure to heat and standing. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. Assignments and work direction are provided by the Bakery Manager or person in charge.Essential Position Function:Ensure proper proofing Determine when items are fully proofedEnsure oven space for proofed itemsComplete oven work Ensure proper oven spaceMonitor proper baking time and temperature for productComplete next day preparations Pull frozen product to be done early next morningAssist in all other bakery areas Stock and wrapAssist customers with questions and requestsMaintain clean and safe work areasEnsure that proper inventory levels exist Communicate supply levelFollow all store and department policies and proceduresFunctional Requirements:Physical Lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs.Pushing/pulling up to 550 lbs.Equipment operation (scales, knives, oven, bread slicer, labeler, cleaning utensils)Stooping, bending, walking on uneven ground, turning, standing, reaching, kneeling, climbing ladders, crawlingMental Judgment/decision makingSocial skills/verbal interactionListening skillsReading, writing, mathMemorizationEnvironmental Working with hot equipmentWorking in cold conditionsImportant Disclosure Notice:The job duties, elements, responsibilities, skills, functions, experience, educational factors, and the requirements and conditions listed in this job description are representative only and not exhaustive of the tasks that an employee may be required to perform.
