Full-Time Compassionate CaregiverPineview Cottage, Northern Michigan's premier assisted living community, is looking for a full-time compassionate caregiver to join our growing team on 3rd shift! The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients.Benefits$24 an hour starting payResponsibilitiesProvide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eatingHelp clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulationHelp with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)Plan and prepare mealsAssist with physical therapy exercisesComplete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do soPerform housekeeping dutiesReport any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencyOffer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessaryQualificationsEnjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skillsAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related dutiesValid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single dayValidated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive mannerAvailable to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekendsPrior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)Willingness to enforce health and safety standardsSupportive and compassionateHigh School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA ProgramTake pride in providing high quality careHoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
