Child Life Specialist — Tulsa, OK Schedule: Day shift, 40 hours per week Pay: Starting at $24.70 per hour AtWork is seeking a Child Life Specialist for a children’ s hospital in Tulsa. In this role, you’ ll help hospitalized children and their families cope with the healthcare experience through developmentally appropriate play, education, and emotional support. What you’ ll do Assess each child’ s and family’ s needs and plan activities that support coping and development. Adapt activities as needs change throughout the hospital stay. Document assessments, observations, recommendations, and progress in the medical record. Orient and supervise volunteers who help provide play and developmental activities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and support community activities related to children’ s health. Stay current with child life practices and contribute to evidence-based care. What you’ ll bring A bachelor’ s degree in child life, child development, or a related field. Completion of a 600-hour child life internship or fellowship. Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) certification, or the ability to complete certification within one year of employment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in a healthcare setting and a master’ s degree in child life studies are preferred.
