Job description

Join a litigation team where collaboration matters, mentorship is intentional, and your growth as an attorney is a firm-wide priority.

The Opportunity

Marshall Dennehey, P.C., an Am Law 200 civil defense firm with more than sixty years of service, is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Westchester, New York office with one to fours years of civil litigation experience who wants early responsibility and meaningful exposure on complex cases. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-exposure cases for Fortune 500 clients in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Our practice is team-based and highly collaborative, offering meaningful client interaction and a clear path for professional development and practice growth. This is a hands-on role whereby associates in this group will have the opportunity to take and defend depositions, draft and argue substantive motions, and litigate matters from inception to resolution under the direction of senior attorneys.

Your matters will be diverse and meaningful and may include premises and retail liability, products liability, rideshare liability, construction defect, commercial auto/trucking litigation and more! Many of these cases involve catastrophic losses, multiple claimants, and fatalities, requiring strong judgment, organization, and strategic thinking.

Compensation range: $118,000 - $150,000 which is negotiable dependent upon experience level and portable business.

The posted compensation range for this position is based on several legitimate, non-discriminatory factors set by the Firm. Marshall Dennehey is committed to ensuring equal pay opportunities for equal work regardless of gender, race, or any other category protected by federal, state, or local pay equity laws.

Your Development Matters

At Marshall Dennehey, we invest in our attorneys. While you are not expected to independently manage cases from inception through trial on day one, you will work closely with experienced shareholders and associates who are committed to mentoring and skill development. Through hands-on experience, continuous feedback, and individualized goal-setting, you will gain the confidence and capability to grow into full case management at your own pace.

Our department has produced trial lawyers who now lead teams, manage books of business, and litigate serious matters throughout our various offices.

Strong analytical thinking, legal writing, research, and communication skills are highly valued—and continuously refined—within our litigation groups.

Firm Culture

We pride ourselves on a diverse, inclusive, and open-door culture where ideas are welcomed, collaboration is encouraged, and attorneys at all levels have direct access to leadership. Our attorneys thrive because they are supported.

A Long-Term Career

Marshall Dennehey seeks attorneys who are looking for a true “forever home.” We value steady career growth, internal advancement, and attorneys who want to build lasting professional relationships—while helping others succeed along the way.

In return, we offer:

A competitive salary

Multiple financial bonus opportunities throughout the year

A comprehensive benefits package

The firm-funded Marshall Associate Advantage™ Lifestyle Account which can cover student loan repayments, gym memberships, dry cleaning, theme park tickets, home delivered meal kits and more.

Long-term stability and a clear future with the firm
