CNAEben Ezer Lutheran Care Center - Brush, CO 80723OverviewSalary Range $17.00 - $24.00 Hourly Position Type Full-Time/Part-Time Job Shift Day Travel Percentage None Category Health CareDescriptionJoin our compassionate care team!EVENING AND NIGHT SHIFTS AVAILABLEFull-time/Part-time/PRN (as needed)Primary Job Purpose:To provide direct and indirect resident centered care to those people who live at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care CenterEssential Job Functions:Practice the Values, the Mission, and Philosophy of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.Assist in implementing care of Neighbors by becoming familiar with each neighbors plan of care to include but not limited to grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, and toileting as outlined in the care plan.Provides for privacy while giving personal care.Provides physical comfort by assisting neighbors with activities of daily living.Gives mental, emotional, and physical support in accordance with care plans.Always treats neighbors with dignity and respect.Encourages neighbors to do what they can for themselves.Must demonstrate patience, compassion, and respect toward the elderly and disabled, and encourages neighbors to be mentally active.Answers call bells in a timely manner.Mealtime assistance and feeding assistance to those in need.Passing of ice water and snacks.Documentation of all care given.Pressure ulcer prevention measures; i.e. turning, repositioning, shifting weight, bridging, monitoring and reporting abnormalities.Performs basic vital sign skills: i.e. Temperature, Pulse, Respirations, and Blood Pressure.Assist with ambulation or mobility needs using the proper lift and/or gait belt according to established lift policy.Routine cleaning of equipment such as over bed tables, commodes, bed pans, etc. Also keeps work areas neat and clean.Performs rounds with and reports to on-coming shift.Performs bed checks.Maintains awareness of changes in neighbors' condition and appropriately reports abnormal changes to the charge nurse.Must maintain confidentiality of all work related information according to HIPPA regulations.In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Eben Ezer needs or requirements.QualificationsQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and Experience:Graduate of an approved Nurse Aid program and hold a current Colorado CNA license. Experience is a SNF setting is preferred.Other Skills and Abilities :Must be able to work independently as well as within a team and in cooperation with many departments.Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Ability to manage time and resources effectively.Maintain punctuality when reporting to work and leaving work.Must demonstrate the willingness and ability to learn and perform all duties required by the Nursing Department.Ability to work and converse in a polite manner with residents, their families, co-workers, and others associated with the position on a daily basis.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructionsMaterial and Equipment used but not limited to:Equipment associated with patient care such as lifts, tubs, wheelchairs, geri chairs, gait belts, specialty beds, blood pressure cuff, etc.Use of telephone, and call bell paging system.Working Environment/Physical Activities:Must be able to push/pull up to 250 pounds regularly using a wheelchair.
