Job description
CNC Lathe OperatorShift: 2nd Shift: MONDAY - THURSDAY 2:15PM-12:45AM. THE CANDIDATE WILL TRAIN ON 1ST SHIFT MON - FRIThe ideal candidate will have experience in set-up, operated Haas, and experienced in adjusting offsets. 5 Axis is a plus!Roles & Responsibilities:Setup, layout and operate various CNC lathes and/or millsReads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequence of operationsSelects, positions, and secures tool in tool holderPositions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixturesMoves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cutSets up fixture, starts machineRequires ability to read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipersObserves operation of machine and verifies conformity of machined work piece to specificationsKeeps work area clean and orderlyFollows all Company rules and safety policiesDiscusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problemsCore Competency Requirements:Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power toolsAdjusts, trim and fitting parts to close tolerancesFollows visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correctMay perform testing of assembled productMake up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, seal finishing productMeet efficiency ratesPerform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are metWork within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPE (steel toe shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses)Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor or team leaderMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - 5SMust be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cellsPerforms related duties as assigned by supervisionRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent1+ yrs of previous CNC experience preferredPhysical Needs:Ability to add and subtract/basic mathAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsGood hand-eye coordinationAbility to lift up to 25lbAbility to stand 90% of shiftNesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
