Job description
CNC Machinist 1Plan and perform various CNC turning operations to machine a variety of metal parts.Essential Functions:Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes.Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, and specifications.Setup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operations.Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.Check parts to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.Measure, examine, and test completed units to defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.Maintain records and document in-process inspection data.Required Qualifications & Experience:Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related dataHigh School Degree or G.E.D1+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, aerospace preferred.Desired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPrecision Manufacturing Certificate preferredMust be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional levelAbility to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organizationAbility to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practicesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructionsAbility to setup and operate CNC turning and milling machinesAbility to measure using standard shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close established tolerancesKnowledge of G & M codesAbility to travel domestically – 10% maxPhysical Demands / Work Capacity EvaluationThe essential functions of this position may vary based on specific assignments, work locations, and operational needs.
