Open the door to a career at the SCDOR and discover why 93% of our employees see how their work contributes to the SCDOR's success—by collecting 95% of South Carolina's general fund, our team serves with purpose and impacts the success of our community.We are looking for teammates who are:Solution-focused problem solvers who think critically and creativelySkilled writers and editors with an interest in effective communicationsProactive, resourceful, able to research and make recommendationsCommitted to continuous improvement with a desire to learn new skills, tools, technologies, and approachesWhat you will do:Drafting and editing articles, emails, guides, presentations, and other contentCoordinating, reviewing, and publishing employee-facing communications, including updating the employee intranetManaging the division's online collaboration tools, including project management tracking tools and document librariesIdentifying and implementing process and system improvementsMonitoring the division email account, responding to emails, assigning requests, and following up on emails as neededConducting research for special projects, preparing findings to assist leadership with decision makingProviding administrative support to the division, including holding the division purchasing card, serving as liaison with Human Resources, and scheduling meetings and taking minutesMinimum and Additional RequirementsEither:A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services ORA bachelor's degreeAcademic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning. Additionally, eligible employees may elect to participate in the South Carolina Deferred Compensation Program, which is a voluntary, supplemental retirement savings plan offering 401(k) and 457 plan options. Workplace Benefits State employees may also be eligible for other benefits, including tuition assistance; holiday, annual and sick leave; and discounts on purchases, travel and more. Note: The benefits above are available to most state employees, with the exception of those in temporary positions. Employees in temporary grant and time-limited positions may be eligible for all, some or none of these benefits as benefits are associated with each position type.
