About the Job
Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a local construction company in Olympia, WA, to hire an experienced Construction Carpenter.
This is a hands-on position working on a variety of residential and commercial construction and renovation projects, including decks, stairs, railings, and fences. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, can work accurately from plans and measurements, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a crew.
The position will start part-time and is expected to transition quickly into full-time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and install decks, stairs, railings, and fences
• Complete residential and commercial renovation projects
• Read plans, measurements, and project specifications
• Measure, cut, fit, and install materials accurately
• Produce clean, professional, quality finished work
• Safely operate appropriate construction and carpentry tools
• Maintain a clean and organized job site
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a crew
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members
• Follow job-site safety procedures and expectations
What You Bring:
• Previous carpentry or construction experience required
• Hands-on experience with decks, stairs, railings, fencing, renovation work, or similar carpentry projects
• Strong measuring, cutting, fitting, and installation skills
• Commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and stay productive with limited supervision
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew
• Dependable attendance and reliable work habits
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable performing physical work throughout the workday
