Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Cybersecurity Project Attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join their team in Seattle, WA, or remotely within the US. This role involves supporting a dynamic Cybersecurity & Incident Response practice, offering the chance to develop expertise in a rapidly evolving legal area.
Duties
Coordinate responses to security incidents with legal, technical, and business stakeholders.
Analyze breach notification laws and advise on obligations and timelines.
Advise on security aspects of corporate transactions.
Direct forensic investigations and liaise with vendors.
Manage regulatory reporting obligations and litigation holds.
Draft and review incident-related communications.
Conduct data impact assessments and support post-incident remediation.
Develop and refine incident response workflows and procedures.
Integrate technology, including AI, into legal practice.
Educate legal professionals on incident response tools and resources.
Requirements
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited institution and admission to practice in a US jurisdiction.
1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity incident response or related fields.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to solve practical problems and manage multiple tasks.
Familiarity with breach notification laws and incident response processes.
Interest in legal technology and AI applications.
Excellent analytical and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate under pressure.
Willingness to travel as necessary.
Education
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited university or college.
Certifications
Admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction.
