Job description

Dermatologist (MD/DO)

Position Summary

The Dermatologist provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care for diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. This role includes the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic dermatologic conditions, as well as the performance of office-based dermatologic procedures, with a focus on high-quality, patient-centered care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of dermatologic conditions, including inflammatory, infectious, autoimmune, and neoplastic skin diseases

Diagnose and treat skin cancers, including melanoma and non-melanoma malignancies

Perform dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and other office-based interventions consistent with training and privileges

Provide medical management for chronic skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea

Educate patients on skin health, disease prevention, and treatment plans

Collaborate with primary care providers and other specialists as needed

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives

Supervise and educate trainees or advanced practice providers, as applicable

Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school

Completion of an accredited dermatology residency program

Board-eligible or board-certified in Dermatology

Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure

DEA registration or eligibility

Skills and Competencies

Expertise in medical and procedural dermatology

Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills

Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities

Ability to work efficiently in a clinic-based environment

Commitment to evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care

Work Environment

Outpatient dermatology clinics and procedural suites

May include limited inpatient consults depending on practice setting

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and sit for extended periods

Manual dexterity for dermatologic procedures

Visual acuity sufficient for detailed skin examinations

Requirements

Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
