Job Description
As a Detention Facility Security Officer - Armed Access in Charleston, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a government corrections location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. This driving post requires a valid driver's license and offers the opportunity to communicate professionally, respond to concerns, and deliver exceptional service. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour
Job Schedule:
Day Time Mon 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM Tue 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM Sun 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a correctional government location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access to designated areas, verify authorization as required, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and facility concerns to appropriate personnel.
Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with site-specific requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
Possess 1+ years' law enforcement experience OR 2+ years' security supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years' security experience.
Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
