Job description
Deliver meaningful care as a Registered Dietitian providing comprehensive nutritional assessment and education within clinical care settings. This role supports patients, families, and the healthcare team through evidence-based nutrition therapy and personalized guidance, with a commitment to improving patient outcomes during a 13-week contract. Leverage your clinical expertise and communication talents to act as a vital member of the multidisciplinary team.
Schedule/Hours:
4x10 hour shifts or 5x8 hour shifts, or a combination
Flexible start and stop times
Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of recent full-time experience (within the past 5 years) as a Registered Dietitian in acute care, nursing home, inpatient rehab, or LTACH settings
Consideration given for 1 year of less recent full-time experience (within past 8 years) in relevant settings
Completion of NFPE (Nutrition-Focused Physical Exam) training required
Proven experience with both enteral and parenteral nutrition
Prefer ICU experience
Must have experience in acute care, nursing home, or inpatient rehab/LTACH settings
Key Responsibilities: Assess patient nutritional needs using interviews, data analysis, and physical assessments
Interpret food/nutrition history, clinical measurements, and labs to determine nutrition-related problems
Develop and implement patient-specific nutrition interventions, including enteral and parenteral therapies
Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly
Educate patients and families on nutritional management and ongoing dietary needs
Document all care and interventions thoroughly in patient records
Collaborate as a consultant with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to deliver optimal care
Develop and provide nutritional education programs and support community outreach
Mentor and supervise dietetic interns and students
Address concerns with culinary services and ensure patient satisfaction
