Join our Tampa headquarters as a Director of Claims and help lead a high-performing claims team through continued growth and innovation. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys leading people, building strong teams, and rolling up their sleeves to help solve complex challenges while keeping the bigger picture in focus.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Lead claims operations to ensure consistent application of claim handling standards, coverage analysis, investigation practices, and resolution guidelines.
Oversee claims processes, controls, and workflows to support accurate, timely, and compliant claims handling.
Provide oversight and direction on complex and high-severity claims, including mediations and trials, in coordination with Legal.
Litigation, Risk & Cross-Functional Partnership
Support execution of litigation and negotiation approaches in alignment with Legal and senior leadership direction.
Partner with Legal in the management of litigated claims, including coordination with defense counsel and case strategy execution
Partner closely with Underwriting on trends, case law, and statutory impacts to product lines
Support underwriting decisions through policy and submission reviews, as needed
Stay current on legislation, regulations, and industry developments impacting claims
Talent Development & Continuous Improvement
Lead and develop claims leaders and teams responsible for claims handling functions.
Support employee development through mentorship, coaching, and timely structured Progress & Growth conversations.
Drive training initiatives in partnership with Training & Auditing to elevate claims capability
Champion best practices, analytics-driven decision-making, and operational excellence across claims
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
8+ years of P&C homeowners claims experience
5+ years of leadership experience managing claims leaders and large teams
Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License
Deep expertise in Florida insurance law and good-faith claims handling
Proven success overseeing complex claims, litigation strategy, and mediations
Strong people-leader with the ability to mentor, influence, and scale high-performing teams
Data-driven, analytical approach with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
