Job description
Department: Emergency Medicine - VCU Health CommunityMemorial Hospital
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in community mental healthsettings
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatmentplanning
Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams
Supervise residents and medical students in clinicalrotations
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinicaldocumentation
Maintain current knowledge of psychiatric best practices andevidence-based treatments
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and institutionalpolicies
Required Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from accredited institution
Completion of psychiatry residency training
Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
Current medical license in Virginia or ability to obtain
Experience in community mental health or public psychiatrypreferred
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as an employee at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
Fellowship training inrelevant subspecialty
Previous academic medical center experience
Research experience and publications
Teaching and supervision experience
Bilingual capabilities
Experience with electronic health record systems
Leadership experience in clinical or administrative roles
