Job description
Legal File ClerkWe are seeking a detail-oriented Legal File Clerk to support a law office with a large-scale file digitization project. This role will be responsible for organizing, scanning, indexing and maintaining legal documents to help transition paper files into a secure digital filing system. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable handling confidential information and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.Key ResponsibilitiesReview, sort and organize physical legal files for scanning and digital storageScan paper documents and ensure all files are uploaded accurately into the document management systemIndex, label and categorize files for easy electronic retrievalPerform quality checks to confirm scanned documents are complete, legible and properly filedMaintain confidentiality and security of sensitive legal records and client informationAssist with file purging, archiving and records retention procedures in accordance with office policiesRetrieve and refile legal documents as neededSupport attorneys and administrative staff with general records management and file room tasks
