Role Description
The FTTH Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing day-to-day fiber-to-the-home operations in the Iowa City–Cedar Rapids Area, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This full-time, on-site role includes managing field teams, coordinating with construction and design departments, and monitoring progress on installation, maintenance, and service activities. The role involves developing and implementing operational plans, optimizing work processes, and enforcing quality and safety standards across multiple active job sites. The FTTH Operations Leader will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, track KPIs, resolve operational issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position also contributes to customer satisfaction by aligning operational performance with service commitments and business objectives.
Qualifications
Strong operations management skills, including resource planning, process optimization, and oversight of field activities.
Proficiency in project management, with experience coordinating timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
Well-developed analytical skills to interpret data, monitor performance metrics, and support data-driven decisions.
Effective communication skills for working with field personnel, leadership, customers, and external partners.
Sales awareness and commercial acumen to support growth initiatives, customer relationships, and service delivery goals.
Experience in FTTH, telecommunications, utilities, or construction operations is highly beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
Working knowledge of safety standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
Proficiency with project management and operations software; comfort with using technology in daily workflows.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
