Job description
Our client is seeking a General Manager to lead the opening and ongoing success of a new luxury retail concept in Palm Beach, FL. This is a rare opportunity to build store operations from the ground up, partner closely with the founder, and shape a highly service-driven environment centered on rare trading cards and sports collectibles presented with the standards of luxury retail. The role is fully on-site and offers meaningful runway for growth as this growing company expands its footprint.
Responsibilities
Lead all day-to-day store operations for the Palm Beach flagship, ensuring a polished, welcoming, and highly organized client experience.
Manage, coach, and develop a team of 3 to 5 sales associates, setting clear expectations for service, selling, and operational execution.
Partner closely with the founder and opening support team to establish store processes, operating standards, and service rituals for a new retail business.
Drive sales performance and accountability through daily management of goals, reporting, and team execution.
Oversee inventory control and shrink prevention for a small, high-value assortment, maintaining strong security awareness and disciplined operational practices.
Support merchandise presentation and visual standards, ensuring the store environment reflects an elevated, experience‑led point of view.
Serve a broad client base with equal confidence and warmth, including serious collectors, high-net‑worth clients, families, and children.
Contribute informed input on buying, assortment, and client preferences based on daily store feedback and selling trends.
Help plan and execute in-store events, private client experiences, and community‑facing programming that build loyalty and repeat traffic.
Maintain a hands‑on leadership presence on the sales floor, balancing client engagement, team support, and operational follow‑through.
Requirements
Proven experience leading a store, boutique, or service‑driven retail environment with direct responsibility for team leadership and operations.
Ability to build structure in a new business, with comfort creating processes, setting standards, and making sound decisions without an established playbook.
Background in elevated retail, hospitality, or another experience‑led environment where presentation, service, and discretion are essential.
Strong operational and financial acumen, including daily sales management, reporting, inventory control, and visual merchandising oversight.
Polished client‑facing presence with the ability to present high‑value product credibly while remaining approachable and unpretentious.
Demonstrated ability to serve different customer types with range, from families and first‑time visitors to serious collectors and private clients.
High level of integrity, sound judgment, and security discipline, especially in environments with valuable and tightly controlled inventory.
No active personal resale business or outside activity that could create a conflict of interest related to collectibles or inventory.
Strong work ethic and a genuine interest in building with the founder over the long term.
Full‑time availability for an on‑site role in Palm Beach, FL.
Preferred backgrounds may include: Luxury watches, fine jewelry, auction, boutique retail, or luxury hospitality
Entrepreneurial businesses as well as larger branded environments
Private client events, membership programs, workshops, or guest‑experience programming
Interest in sports or collectibles, though direct category expertise is not required
