Job Description & Requirements

GI Hospitalist

StartDate: ASAP Pay Rate: $ - $

University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking an Academic Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join its rapidly expanding Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. This is a rare opportunity to join and help shape a growing academic division that is actively investing heavily in inpatient services, faculty expansion, advanced clinical programs, expanding facilities, and long-term infrastructure growth and development. As inpatient demand continues to increase, UTMB leadership has identified GI hospitalist recruitment as a top strategic priority.

The successful candidate will join a collegial faculty team dedicated to exceptional patient care, education, and academic excellence while helping create a sustainable inpatient care model that supports both patient access and faculty success. Leadership is open to creative scheduling structures, including heavily inpatient-focused practice models and block scheduling for physicians who prefer hospital-based medicine.

The combination of academic opportunity, clinical complexity, institutional support, and Greater Houston lifestyle flexibility creates a compelling destination for gastroenterologists seeking lasting impact.
