Job description
Head of Finance & Accounting
Location: Grand Prairie, TX | On-Site/Hybrid
About the Opportunity
A growing, entrepreneurial hospitality and leisure company is seeking a hands-on and strategic Head of Finance & Accounting to lead its corporate finance function during an exciting period of expansion.
The company operates a multi-location portfolio and is entering its next phase of growth through new development, strategic partnerships, and expansion of its footprint. This is an opportunity to join an organization where finance will play a critical role in shaping the next chapter of the business.
The ideal candidate will be more than a traditional accounting leader. This person will serve as a trusted business partner to the CEO and operating leadership, while building the infrastructure, processes, team, and financial discipline needed to support continued growth.
The Opportunity
The Head of Finance & Accounting will have broad responsibility for the company's corporate finance organization, including:
Lead corporate accounting, financial reporting and controllership
Own FP&A, annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
Develop financial models to support growth initiatives, capital projects and new locations
Oversee treasury, cash management, banking relationships and liquidity
Manage lender relationships, debt obligations, covenant compliance and financial reporting
Oversee tax strategy and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Establish and strengthen financial controls, policies and governance
Lead financial due diligence and analysis related to new opportunities, partnerships and expansion
Evaluate the financial implications of contracts, operating agreements and strategic partnerships
Oversee financial systems, technology, reporting tools and process improvement initiatives
Develop consistent financial reporting and processes across a multi-property/multi-location environment
Build, lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting organization
Partner closely with operations to improve financial performance, accountability and decision-making
Serve as a key financial advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team
Key Leadership Attributes
The successful candidate will be:
Strategic but hands-on — comfortable setting the vision while diving into the details when needed
A builder who enjoys creating structure, processes and infrastructure in a growing organization
A strong business partner, able to translate financial information into actionable recommendations
Experienced leading finance across a multi-location or multi-property environment
Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving organization
A strong communicator with the executive presence to work effectively with ownership, senior leadership, lenders and operating teams
Commercially minded, with an understanding that finance exists to support and drive the business
Highly analytical with strong financial modeling, forecasting and decision-support capabilities
A collaborative leader who can build, mentor and develop a finance team
Comfortable balancing growth, operational needs, financial discipline and risk management
High-integrity, accountable and capable of exercising sound judgment with sensitive financial information
Someone who enjoys building the plane while flying it rather than simply maintaining an established infrastructure
Ideal Background
12+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience
Significant experience in hospitality, resorts, hotels, leisure, entertainment or another multi-location operating environment
Experience leading finance across multiple properties, locations or business units
Previous experience as a CFO, VP Finance, Head of Finance, Division Finance Leader or similar senior-level role
Strong background across accounting, FP&A, treasury and financial strategy
Experience supporting growth, expansion, acquisitions, new locations or strategic partnerships
Experience with lender relationships, banking and liquidity management
Demonstrated success building and developing finance teams
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field required
MBA, CPA or other advanced credential preferred
Why This Opportunity?
This is a particularly compelling opportunity for a finance leader who wants breadth, visibility and the opportunity to build.
Rather than stepping into a mature organization with an established playbook, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the corporate finance function, build the team, improve infrastructure and directly influence the company's growth strategy.
The role offers significant exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to become a true financial and strategic partner as the organization expands its portfolio.
If you're a hospitality finance leader who enjoys growth, building teams and creating structure in an entrepreneurial environment, this could be an excellent next chapter.
