Job description
Production HelperThis role supports 1st shift machine operations in a manufacturing environment, assisting with production tasks, operating machinery, and performing general labor and assembly work. The position focuses on safe and efficient operation of equipment, use of hand and power tools, and basic welding-related activities to keep production running smoothly.ResponsibilitiesOperate production machinery safely and efficiently during 1st shift, following all operating procedures and safety guidelines.Assist with general labor and production tasks, including lifting, moving, and positioning materials and parts as needed.Perform basic assembly work using hand tools and power tools to support manufacturing processes.Support machine operation activities, including operating brake press equipment as trained and directed.Read and follow simple blueprints or work instructions to complete assigned production tasks accurately.Use welding-related tools and equipment as required for production support, ensuring proper handling and safety practices.Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to housekeeping standards within the manufacturing environment.Follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, including use of eye protection, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and welding helmet.Collaborate with team members to identify additional work that needs to be done and assist wherever needed to keep production on schedule.Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or production problems to appropriate personnel promptly.Essential SkillsExperience working in production, manufacturing, or general labor roles.Ability to operate basic machinery, including prior exposure to machine operation.Familiarity with brake press operation or willingness to learn under supervision.Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.Capability to read and follow basic blueprints or work instructions.Comfort with lifting, moving, and handling materials in a manufacturing setting.Understanding of basic welding-related tasks and safe handling of welding tools.Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required PPE at all times.Reliability in working 1st shift hours and completing scheduled workdays.This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN. The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
