Our household runs at a high energy level — there are always school bags coming through the door, sports schedules to track, meals to get on the table, and a big, lovable dog who thinks she owns the place. One parent manages the home full-time, while the other splits time between working from home and frequent trips into the city. Life moves quickly here, and we like it that way, but that also means we genuinely need someone who can help keep the wheels turning behind the scenes. Our kids are bright, active, and both deeply involved in school and sports. They are largely capable and self-sufficient, and we are intentional about keeping it that way. We want them to tidy their own spaces, and stay on top of their own things. We're not looking for someone to do everything for them, but rather someone who knows when to step in if schedules get busy—and how to gently hold them accountable—while still being a warm, grounding presence in the home. We've had long-tenured household support for many years, and we deeply value consistency, trust, and a sense of genuine investment in the family. Our weekend caretaker has been with us for over a decade, and that kind of lasting relationship is exactly what we hope to build again. This is a household where you become part of the rhythm, not just a set of tasks. We especially appreciate people who bring positivity, take pride in their work, and have an intuitive sense of when to jump in and when to give the family a little breathing room.Who You Are / What We're Looking ForYou're the right person for this role if you walk into a room, spot what needs to happen next, and take initiative. You don't wait to be asked—you fold the laundry that's ready, start dinner when it's time, break down the boxes by the door, and add pantry items to the running list before anyone notices they're low. You take quiet pride in a well-run home and genuinely enjoy making the family's day run a little smoother. You are organized and detail-oriented without being rigid. You read the room effortlessly, knowing when the family needs your full presence and when they need their space. You are warm and nurturing, especially with kids, but you also know how to hold a boundary and have a light, natural authority that teenagers respect. You do not need to be micromanaged, and in fact, you would find that stifling. You are someone who takes direction well when it is given, follows through without needing reminders, and brings your own initiative to fill the gaps. You are deeply reliable. You show up when you say you will, you communicate proactively, and you treat this home with the same care and discretion you would want someone to show yours. You are comfortable with a big, lovable dog and genuinely enjoy being around animals. You are flexible when the family's schedule shifts, adaptable when needs evolve, and steady when things get busy. If you have supported a busy household before and loved it, this role was made for you.Key ResponsibilitiesFamily Support & Child AssistancePick-ups and drop-offs, 3-4 days per weekGently encourage our teens to take responsibility for their own things (keeping rooms tidy, managing laundry bins, and clearing items out of the car)Assist with driving to after-school activities, playdates, etc.Light supervision and backup childcare as needed, including date-night coverage and occasional overnight staysKid-related errands as neededHousehold Management & OrganizationMaintain and support existing organizational systemsDaily tidying and household reset: surfaces, dishes, vacuuming high-traffic areas, pillow fluffing, mudroom and drop-zone managementPrep home for weekly cleaners each WednesdaySeasonal clothing sort-outs; coordinate donation drop-offs or pickupsPacking and unpacking support for travel, with particular attention to unpacking work bagsSwap air purifier filters as delivered (approximately every 6 months)Cover outdoor furniture and grill ahead of rainMaintain general home upkeep: replace light bulbs, batteries, and smoke detector batteries as neededMeal SupportPrepare approximately 3 dinners per week—either fully preparing dinner or starting/prepping it; sometimes for the full family, sometimes just for the kidsSimple, healthy, kid-friendly meals (think meatballs, fajitas, and similar); low-gluten preferred but not requiredKitchen clean-up and maintenanceGrocery runs for odds and ends beyond subscription delivery ordersLaundry & LinensFolding and ironing particularly dress shirts, uniforms, work clothingOccasional midweek linen and towel rotation as needed, in coordination with the weekly cleanersGentle reminders for children to manage their laundryMaintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry areaInventory & ErrandsMonitor and restock pantry, fridge, and household suppliesManage and track household orders and subscriptions (Fresh Direct, Amazon, and similar)Unpack and organize deliveries; break down boxesMonitor expiration dates and discard spoiled itemsMaintain a running list of the kids toiletry needsPrepare dry cleaning items for pickup; manage UPS returnsHandle incoming mail and packagesPet CareFeeding and/or walking as neededAdminister daily probiotic treat; monitor and reorder dog food as neededRefill indoor food bin from supply in the garageVehicle UpkeepOccasional cleaning, organizing, and fueling of the family vehicleVendor & Property OversightProvide home access to scheduled vendors (sprinkler service, exterminator, and similar contractors, etc.)Oversee cleaners as neededManage outdoor spaces (cover outdoor furniture and grill)Administrative & Personal Assistant SupportOccasional research for vacation reservations and travel logisticsJot additions and updates to the household's printed weekly and monthly calendarLight calendar awareness and schedule supportHow to ApplyTo apply, please submit a short intro letter telling us about yourself and why this role is a great fit, an updated resume, and 3 professional references with current contact information.
