Student HousekeeperWe are seeking a reliable and motivated Student Housekeeper to assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of campus facilities within Saint Xavier University. This role is ideal for students looking for part-time work that fits around their academic schedule. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies:Critical Thinking: Students build critical thinking skills by applying judgment, solving problems, prioritizing tasks, maintaining accuracy, and using feedback to improve their work.Leadership: Students build leadership skills by taking initiative, demonstrating responsibility, supporting others, contributing ideas, and modeling positive workplace behaviors.Professionalism: Students build professionalism by practicing dependability, accountability, confidentiality when applicable, workplace etiquette, and respectful service in a workplace setting.Teamwork: Students build teamwork skills by collaborating with supervisors, staff, and peers to support department goals, assist others, and contribute to a positive work environment.The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties.Performs custodial tasks and maintenance of areas such as classrooms, offices and auditoriums.Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.Washes, dusts and polishes glass including windows, woodwork, walls, furniture and metal equipment;Cleans whiteboards and other classroom surfaces.Cleans and sanitizes sinks, water fountains, and/or fixture in restrooms and similar environments.Performs event set-up for university functions.Maintains assigned closets and equipment in a neat, clean and safe working condition.Removes snow and ice from stairways and walkways around buildings;Salts stairways and walkways.Reports need for repairs.Immediately reports any and all unsafe conditions.MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITYMust be Federal Work Study EligibleMust Include a Resume and Cover LetterKnowledge of SXU buildingsTime Management SkillsFriendlyWilling to LearnWe inspire success by working together to provide meaningful, personalized service in a spirit of excellence.
