Job description
Housing Implementation Specialist
The Housing Implementation Specialist performs professional level work to advance the City's housing goals through project implementation, partnership development, and innovative housing programs.
The position serves as the Community Development Department's primary coordinator for implementing the City's Balanced Housing Strategy and other housing related objectives by facilitating housing development and redevelopment opportunities, leveraging City-owned property, fostering public-private partnerships, administering and enhancing housing programs, and identifying creative solutions to preserve, retain and expand the housing available to meet the community's needs. Housing solutions may include initiatives that encourage infill housing development, support small scale mixed-use and commercial redevelopment incorporating residential uses, preserve existing housing that can be attainable to working age households, facilitate rehabilitation and adaptive reuse, encourage accessory dwelling units for seniors and working age households, and implement other City housing priorities while respecting and preserving the natural surroundings and small town character of the community. The position evaluates program effectiveness, recommends improvements, coordinates implementation, and works collaboratively with property owners, developers, employers, nonprofit organizations, and community partners to achieve measurable housing outcomes.
