Job Opportunity at Spencer HospitalSpencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. We offer competitive salaries and benefits as well as a pleasant work environment.ResponsibilitiesCalling payors for paymentPerforms routine duties in conjunction with processing all third party insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and other government assisted programs.Clerks will have a good working knowledge of all payer regulations for submitting claims.Billing clerk will send claims either electronically or hard copy depending on the type of claim being processed.Handles day to day requests for insurance resubmits.Answers phone calls and correspondence relating to the claim.Audits the admission/registration information to ensure accuracy prior to billing and check for missing or incorrect information or authorizationsRequirementsPrevious hospital and/or clinic billing experience requiredKnowledge of medical and insurance terminologyExperience with EPIC is a plusMust have excellent communication skills, caring attitude and be a team playerStrong organizational skills are requiredHS diploma or equivalent requiredScheduleNo guarantee of hours; availability of 15-20 hours per pay period is desirableThe schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the departmentSpencer Hospital offers competitive wages, affordable insurance, IPERS retirement, in-house education, paid time off, family gym membership and so much more!Please contact Spencer Hospital Human Resources for any questions at or email
